The teachers from the "Transport" department have published more than 800 articles and reports and more than 20 textbooks and study aids. They participated in scientific conferences in addition to the country and in Russia, Serbia, Poland, Macedonia, Romania, Great Britain, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Ukraine, Austria, Italy, etc.

      Prof. D. Simeonov, PhD and Assoc. Prof.  M. Marinov, PhD are members of the editorial board of the magazine Transport Reviews, published in England.

      Prof. V. Pencheva, PhD was Deputy Rector for Development, Coordination and Continuing Education and Director of the Multifunctional Directorate for Coordination, Development and Continuing Education of the University of Ruse from 2008 to 2015. Since 2016, she has been rector of the University of Ruse. She also participates in the editorial board of the magazine "Annals of the Faculty of Engineering Hunedora", Timisoara, Romania.

     With its educational, scientific and innovative work, the team of the "Transport" department is popular in the country and abroad and has always strived for cooperation with universities, ministries, departments and organizations.  Traditionally, the relations of the department are good with the Technical University - Sofia and Varna, HTU "Todor Kableshkov" Sofia, Burgas Free University, Yambol Technical College, etc. Close cooperation was established and joint work was carried out with the Institute of Transport at the University of Leeds (Great Britain), the Moscow Road and Automobile Institute, the Polytechnic in Radom (Poland), the University of Pitesti (Romania), the Technical University and the Higher School of Engineering and economy - Berlin (Germany).

Various projects and programs have been implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Department of Traffic, AEBTRI, IA "Automotive Administration" and "Maritime Administration" and others national and local departments and organizations.

At the moment, the attention of the department is engaged in creating a philosophy for the construction of the city of Rousse as a logistics center, through its participation in the construction activities of the Danube Strategy.

     In conclusion, it can be noted that the overall work of the "Transport" department at the University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev" is aimed at creating specialists who can solve the transport problems of modern society, specialists prepared not for today, but for tomorrow. The preparation of specialists for work in the Single European Transport Market is the philosophy and content of the activity of the "Transport" department. The carried out research and expert activities bring the department to high positions in the research area of the country.
