The Department of Foreign Languages was established in 1960. It was part of various faculties: Agricultural Mechanization, Electrical Faculty, Faculty of Business and Management, Faculty of Law and currently – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Some of the teachers with longer experience in the department are direct participants in the "innovative" for the beginning of the 1990s forms and methods of work, such as intensive training in the short-lived "language semester", as well as in the development and use of unique time computer multimedia tools for foreign language learning. Thanks to the activity of individual teachers, all members of the department have participated in academic mobility programs and have been on specialization in England and Spain. With hard work and effective cooperation, the trust and respect of colleagues and partners from several Bulgarian and many foreign educational institutions has been earned.
