Dear young friends of Design,

For the twelfth time in a row, the "Industrial Design" department at the University of Ruse organizes a Design contest in which all high school graduates can participate.

The purpose of the competition is to help young people to reveal their creative potential, to measure their strength with their peers and to outline the direction of their future education and professional realization in the field of Design.

A peculiarity of the competition is that, if the participants wish, their grades can be recognized as grades from preliminary exams in drawing and modeling for application and enrollment in the "Design" specialty of the University of Ruse.

Here, future students will be able to receive a wide-ranging training in Design, including, in addition to industrial, graphic Design, web Design, computer 2D and 3D modeling, audio-visual processing, etc.

  REGILATION FOR CONDUCTING THE CONTEST

1. A General Criteria:

1.1. The proposed solution should be in accordance with the topic and be consistent with the characteristic requirements for this type of products;

1.2. The project should be distinguished by originality and quality of the final execution. Each participant in the competition is responsible for the authorship of his development.

1.3. The participation is individual.

1.4. Number of elaboration for each participant - one.

2. A mandatory development of the contest:

2.1. Graphic part – drawing in perspective and on a 1:1 scale of the Designed object. (It is desirable that working drawings, sketches, diagrams or drawings, etc. are also present). There is no limit to the visual techniques applied in the execution of the graphic development (pencil, pastel, felt-tip pens, markers, etc.) The size of the individual sheets should not be larger than A2 format and not smaller than A4 format.

2.2. 1:1 Scale model of the designed object. There is no limit to the type of material from which the model is made (plasticine, clay, gypsum, styrofoam, etc.). The main requirement is that it allows precise modeling of the details and retains its shape during transportation and moving. The model should not be colored additionally. It is not allowed to write any inscriptions on the model.

2.3. Text part (up to 1 page, explaining the author's inspiration, concept, design and color decision). The text part must contain the participant's name, address, telephone and e-mail for feedback.

TRANSFER AND EVALUATION OF THE DEVELOPMENTS

1. The development transfer time includes the following periods

- First period 26st February – 01st March, 2024

- Second period 25th March – 29th March, 2024

- Тhird period 22nd April – 26th April, 2024

- Fourth perid 27th May – 31st May, 2024

- Fifth period 24th June – 28th June, 2024.

The deadline for submission of the developments is 3:00 p.m. (Friday) for each of the specified periods.

The acceptance of the materials with the developments will take place on site, in the Department of Industrial Design, after an appointment by phone or by mail, at the address:

2. Evaluation of the Еlaborations

2.1. The evaluation of the elaborations will be carried out by a committee of professors in the "Industrial Design" department of the University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev".

2.2. When evaluating the elaborations, two marks will be awarded according to the six-point system, one for the graphic part and the other for the layout. The ranking will be based on them.

3. The announcement of the results of the competition for all periods will be up to five days after the end dates for transmission. The results will be disclosed at the Department of Industrial Design-http://design.uni-ruse.bg, or with messages to the participants.
