The lecturers from the "Electronics" department actively develop research activities, as well as lead youth research laboratories and teams and actively guide student research activities.

The scientific research activity of the teachers is related to developments in the unified scientific field - Industry 4.0, Embedded systems, Electrical engineering, electronics and automation in agriculture and industry, Medical electronics, Automotive electronics, Electronic systems for managing RES, Modern educational systems for training, Audio systems, Radio electronics, Microelectronics, etc.

The lecturers from the department are members or chairmen of various international organizations: Association for career guidance in higher education AKORVO, Electrochemical Society, USA, Slovak Vacuum Society, Slovakia, Union of Scientists in Bulgaria - Ruse branch . The lecturers from the department participate in the editorial boards of scientific journals - collection of scientific works of the University of Ruse, section "Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation" and the organizing committees of international conferences - "Energy Efficiency and Agricultural Engineering" (Energy Efficiency and Agricultural Engineering), held in Ruse University and IEEE.

The Department of "Electronics" offers training in two educational-qualification degrees and one educational-scientific degree, respectively:

• Educational Qualification Degree Bachelor in "Electronics"

• Educational Qualification Degree  Master's degree in "Electronics" and "Automotive Electronics"

• Educational Qualification Degree Doctor of Doctoral Program "Electronization"

Curricula and programs meet modern requirements for acquiring higher education and are synchronized with similar specialties in the countries of the European Union, which ensures recognition of diplomas without equivalent exams and full student mobility based on ECTS credits.

Lecturers from the department and students are actively involved in international educational and research programs such as Erasmus and the Framework Programs of the European Community. Within the educational programs, students can study at various leading universities in Europe and Canada

Students of the specialty can obtain specialization in the main areas: Industrial Electronics, Radio Electronics, Automotive Electronics. From 2015 to 2020, students and PhD students from the "Electronics" major participated in both teams of the international competition Eco Shell Marathon London, as well as won prestigious awards of the CLASS Foundation and the National Competition "Student of the Year".
Students trained in the specialty "Electronics" receive in-depth knowledge and acquire professional skills in the field of electronics, microelectronics, automotive electronics, embedded systems. After successful graduation, they can work in various engineering, research and scientific units in industry, communications, energy , transport, agriculture, etc.
