THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF RUSE PARTICIPATES IN THE OPENING OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CRAIOVA
The Rector of the University of Ruse, Prof. Desislava Atanasova, PhD, and the Vice Rector, prof. Daniel Bratanov, PhD, participated in the ceremonial opening of the 80th academic year at the University of Craiova, Romania. The event was hosted by the Rector of the University of Craiova, Prof. Cezar Ionuț Spinu, PhD.
The visit is part of the active academic and institutional partnership between the two universities, which is also being developed within the framework of the European university alliance ACROSS.
The Rector of the University of Ruse, Prof. Atanasova, PhD presented a congratulatory message to Prof. Spinu, PhD on the occasion of the start of the new academic year. She wished the academic community of the University of Craiova a successful and fruitful year, filled with new achievements in education, science, and international cooperation.
During the visit to Craiova, opportunities for deepening the partnership between the two universities and for developing joint initiatives within the framework of ACROSS were also discussed.
The ACROSS project will run for 48 months—from January 1st , 2025, to December 31, 2028th —and is being implemented with financial support from the "2024 Erasmus+ European Universities call" under the "European Universities" initiative. The consortium includes nine universities from cross-border regions in Europe, among them the University of Ruse and the University of Craiova. The project is coordinated by the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany. The National University of Lviv "Ivan Franko", Ukraine, is an associated partner.
The University of Ruse plays a leading role in the implementation of the project, overseeing three of the sixteen key work packages. Participation in ACROSS expands opportunities for international cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research, and innovation, and reinforces the role of the University of Ruse as an active participant in the European Education and Research Area.
