The entire wealth of Bulgarian dance and musical folklore has been preserved and staged in the repertoire of the Dance Ensemble at the University of Ruse"Angel Kanchev".

       The dance line-up was created in 1970 and includes:

• Concert line-up of dancers;

• Professional orchestra and singers.

       The music is performed by an orchestra, which includes two accordions, a synthesizer, a guitar and a drum.

      The ensemble's repertoire includes dance performances from all ethnographic regions of Bulgaria. With skill and mastery, the dancers transform the specific style of play for each area, with proper dance technique. Plastic, soulful and beautiful, they also possess high acting skills, with which they captivate the audience.

The impact of the great variety of Bulgarian national costumes is fascinating. Their colours are bright, they are made of wool and cotton, they are rich in embroideries and ornaments. Beautiful are the decorations for the women's heads - multi-colored towels or hats, studded with beads, coins decorated with flowers. Costumes from different ethnographic areas differ - cloths, double aprons or skirts and waistcoats. They all wear white shirts with rich embroidery, which is also on the men's shirts. Men's clothing is also colorful, although more restrained, especially in belts and waistcoats.

       This great variety and richness allows to maintain a high artistic level and a rich repertoire program, including all components of Bulgarian folklore. The concert program has a different duration from 15 minutes to 2 hours.

The dance group is a laureate of republican festivals, a winner of gold medals. Toured with great success in Greece, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, England, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, etc.
