1. Еducational Activity

The educational activity of the "Mathematics" department is carried out through:

• Preparation of study plans and programs;

• Reviewing curricula and programs;

•Educational process;

• Information and computer service of the educational process;

•Distance learning;

• Methodological and research seminars;

• Preparation and publishing of study materials and textbooks.

2. Research Activity (RA)

Scientific research in the field of mathematics and informatics education is in the following directions:

Mathematical Modeling, Computational Mathematics, Differential Equations, Numerical Methods for Differential Equations, Variational and Topological Methods, Financial Mathematics, Operations Research, Mathematical Analysis, Mathematics Education Methodology, Structural Ring Theory, Algebras with Polynomial Identities, Computational Algebra, Geometric transformations, Work with talented pupils and students.

The scientific activity is represented by publishing scientific articles and reports in internationally known refereed editions, publishing monographs and books. The NID of the teachers is financed by projects to the internal scientific research fund (FNI) at the University of Ruse, the national SRF and participation in international projects.

In the period 2017-2021, the members of the "Mathematics" department have published a total of 130 works, of which 91 articles in refereed journals, and 75 of them have an impact factor or SJR.

3. Management of the educational processThe management activity of the "Mathematics" department is expressed in:

- Organization and management of the department;

- Internal and external audits of the quality system;

- Tracking the realization of students who have completed the training;

- User evaluation of graduate training.

4. Competitive ability of training in the professional direction

Lecturers from the department have participated in 18 different international educational and research projects.

Seminars on Differential Equations and Mathematical Modeling and a Teaching Methodology Seminar are held in the department of Mathematics.

The scientific reports from the conferences are published in proceedings and on the university's website, which allows them to be accessible both to the scientific community and to business and the general public. Collections of all scientific sessions and seminars held at the university and collections of reports of students who participated with them in scientific seminars and sessions are published.

For the dissemination of scientific research achievements of public, scientific and applied interest, other effective forms are used, such as:

  • Exhibitions of developments of individual scientific teams;
  • A permanent exhibition of posters and exhibits in the Rector's lobby, reflecting the main results of the Scientific Research Sector (SRS);
  • Virtual exhibition on the SRS website;
  • Advertising leaflets;
  • Multimedia presentations and their daily display through the monitor information system, which covers the entire university;
  • Information in regional and national media.
