FACULTY
OF AGRICULTURAL MECHANISATION
Department of Thermotehnics, Hydro-
and Pneumotechnics
-
Short history:
The department was established at the
beginning of 1967 and members-founders were lecturers
in the field of thermotehnics (formerly working in the
Department of Internal-combustion engines) and lecturers
in the field of hydraulics (formerly working at the Department
of Mashines and Mechanisms Theory and Hydraulics). The
newly established academic unit was named Department
of Thermotechnics and Hydraulics and its first head was
Professor Ph.D. Dimitar Spasov Velev, a lecturer of thermotechnics.
The department was headed by him till 1985. Professor
Velev is a prominent specialist in the field of heat insulators.
The next head of the department was the associate-professor
Gancho Varbanov Gouzgulov (now professor). He headed the
department from 1985 to 1988, as well as from 1993 the
department was administrated by the associate-professor
Ph.D. Ivan Christov Kozuharov. Since January 2000 the
head of the department has been the associate-professor
Ph.D. Petar Rousev Petrov. In 1999 the academic unit was
Pneumotechnics renamed Department of Thermotehnics, Hydro-
and Pneumotechnics. The department has at its disposal
two separate buildings a Centre for Thermotehnics and
Centre for Hydropneumatics with two mechanical workshops,
lecture halls and educational research laboratories.
