The
Department Agricultural Machinery was established in
1954. It has an equipment divided in separate laboratories:
machines for soil cultivation, sowing and cultivation
of crops; machines for harvesting; mechanization of stock-breeding;
automation of the agricultural processes; groundings of
plant-growing and groundings of stock-breeding.
The basic trends on which is being working
at the department are the following:
- mechanization of the soil cultivation
and sowing;
- mechanization of harvesting,
processing and storage of crops and fodder;
- mechanization of the processes
in the stock-breeding;
- automation of the agricultural
equipment.
As
a result of the scientific work carried out at the department
and with the participation of assistants from the department
many new machines have been designed, some of them are
in a regular production: a seeder for a direct sowing
SDD-8; a range of maize-shellers RS-1, RSN-4, RSU-15 and
RSU-30; a cutter for crude fodder RGF-3,6 Strandja;
a combined machine for under-strata sowing MKPS-2,8; a
family of small size seeders for an exact sowing; a family
of fodder-mills for the private farms; semi-sheltered
grain harvester US-101; an automated system for a registration
and processing of test data etc.
The
department has business and scientific contacts with similar
institutes and companies in the country and abroad.
Having
the technical equipment, information insurance of the
subjects and skilled staff, the department Agricultural
Machinery corresponds to the current requirements and
carries out a teaching process at a high level.
